| I have been using the sidesaddle putting technique probably longer than anyone alive today... | |
| ...dating back to the 1950's | |
| During that time I have built and tried dozens of putters with an astounding variety of putter heads, shafts, bends and shafting positions. | |
| None of these were quite able to afford the natural feeling of having the stroke hand directly over the ball and still conform to the USGA rules. | |
| Heel and center shafting also has the effect of placing the shaft a little to close for a comfortable takeaway resulting in occasional pulls due to an outside - in stroke in order to avoid the feeling of possibly hitting your leg. | |
| Recently, I stuck a long double bend shaft in a right hand head backwards. | |
| Being a left hander, it fit me. | |
| I was able to line this putter up much easier and the stroke was completely unencumbered by my leg. It felt much more balanced and wanted to stay on line all by itself... particularly during the release through the ball. | |
| The alignment properties of the head were in full view without interference from the shaft. | |
| A few adjustments to the shaft bends for the best balance and a virtual magic wand was born. | |
| It was a true epiphany! | |
| My next challenge was to incorporate a putter head design that would best compliment the shafting and take even more advantage of this unique idea. | |
| From the very first stroke I was convinced I had found the easiest and most accurate putting system in the world... | |
